I am a retired educator who taught General Science, Chemistry, Biology, Russian and Technology at all levels for 40 years working with people aged 4 to 90. SI was the designated photographer wherever I worked or played but had no formal training. After retiring in 2006, I started studying Fine Art Photography at both the Boca Raton Museum Art School and the Delray Beach Old School Square Cultural Arts Center enrolling in the Beginner's Photography class, eventually moving to the Master class, where I studied with other amazing photographers for many years before graduating to international critique groups.

Ihas exhibited in many juried shows in galleries and museums, has frequently been juried into in Black and White Magazine and have judged in local camera clubs. I have been invited to share her photography expertise in presentations in Florida, New Jersey, Pennsylvania and on ZOOM at local and international levels.  Her photography appears in many private collections in the US and Canada.

I love photography - it allows me the joy of being a lifelong learner. When I began my photographic journey in earnest as a Beginner student (2006), I discovered that the challenge of looking at our world in unique ways enthralls me.

In the words of the famed photographer Elliot Erwitt, 'It's about finding something interesting in an ordinary place. I found it has little to do with the things you see and everything to do with the way you see them.’ Exploring the world through our vision and the magic of light reveals hidden relationships. I strive to use my photographs to find the essence of what I am shooting, trying to capture the emotions, the awe and the energy that I feel. I hope my work gives the viewer an opportunity to find an emotional connection to each image - happy, sad, beautiful, scary, unusual, gorgeous, angry and the list goes on.

My favorite photo is my next one.

“You don't make a photograph just with a camera. You bring to the act of photography all the pictures you have seen, the books you have read, the music you have heard, the people you have loved.” ― Ansel Adams

Lynne says: "When I venture out with my camera, I keep thinking; 'Find the light and you have a photograph.' "
